On Your Device (Local Storage Only):

• Mood entries (date, emoji selection, optional notes)
• App settings (lock preferences, ad removal status)
• App usage patterns (for app functionality only)

All data is stored exclusively on your device and protected by your device's built-in security. We do not access, store, or process this data on our servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or store:

• Your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
• Location data
• Contact lists or social connections
• Health history (beyond mood check-ins you record)
• Device identifiers linked to your identity
• Metadata about your usage patterns

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob (Advertising)

• Ambushed displays banner ads powered by Google AdMob
• AdMob may collect anonymous data about ad interactions (impressions, clicks)
• This data is not linked to your identity or mood data
• If you purchase "Remove Ads" via in-app purchase, no ads will be displayed

Face ID / Touch ID

Biometric authentication is handled entirely by Apple and does not leave your device. We do not access or store biometric data.

In-App Purchase

• Purchasing "Remove Ads" is processed through Apple's App Store
• We do not store payment information; Apple handles all transactions
• Your purchase status is stored locally on your device

Data Backup & Export

• You can manually back up your mood data through the app's Settings
• You can restore mood data locally to your device
• No automatic cloud backup occurs without your explicit action

Data Retention

• Mood data is retained locally on your device indefinitely until you delete it
• You can delete individual mood entries or clear all data at any time via Settings
• Deleting the app will remove all local mood data

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all your mood data at any time (it's on your device)
• Export or back up your data locally
• Delete any mood entry or all data permanently
• Disable the app lock feature
• Remove ads via in-app purchase
• Uninstall the app at any time

Under UK data protection law (GDPR), you also have the right to:

• Request access to your data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to certain processing

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over these rights at any time.

Children's Privacy

Ambushed is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we are collecting data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Data Security

• Your mood data is stored securely on your device using the app's local storage
• We do not transmit mood data to external servers
